Terms and conditions

Who you are dealing with

These terms are between you and Johin, an independent web designer based in India, trading as Local Business Design(“we”, “us”). Local Business Design is a trading name, not a registered company, so the contract is with Johin personally. Contact: johin@localbusinessdesign.com.

What we do

We design and build a website for your business. The standard project is four to five pages, with the buttons and integrations described on the home page, set up and connected for you.

Quotes

A quote is free and carries no obligation. Sending the form does not create a contract and does not commit you to anything. We are not bound to accept every enquiry, and we may decline work.

The price we quote is the price for the work described in that quote. If you later ask for something outside it — online ordering, a booking system, a custom plugin — we quote that separately and in advance. We do not add costs you have not agreed to.

What you pay, and when

One payment, for the amount stated in your quote. It falls due after you have seen and approved your design, and before the site goes live. There is no monthly fee, no retainer, and no subscription for keeping the site online.

Your domain name is separate. You buy it and it renews in your name, paid to the registrar, typically around $10–20 a year. That money is not ours and we do not take a share of it.

Hosting

We keep standard local-business websites online at no charge, on the hosting arrangements described on the home page. “Standard” means the sort of site this service builds: your pages, photographs, opening hours and contact details. If a project needs paid infrastructure — heavy traffic, an ordering system, something that has to run a server — we tell you the cost before we build it.

Free hosting is not a promise of perpetual service at no cost under any future circumstances. If we ever could not continue hosting your site for free, we would tell you, in good time, and help you move it. We would not hold the site hostage to a bill.

What you give us

You provide your text, photographs, logo and business details, and you confirm you have the right to use them. If you send us a photograph you do not own, or text copied from somewhere else, that is your responsibility, not ours, and we may remove it.

We may need things from you to finish — content, feedback, approval. If we cannot get them, the work stops until we can.

Who owns the site

You do, once you have paid. The design, the pages, and the content are yours. You can move the site elsewhere, change it yourself, or hire anyone else to change it. You do not need our permission and you do not need to keep paying us anything to keep it.

We keep the right to mention that we built it, and to show it in our own portfolio, unless you ask us not to.

Changes after launch

The site is yours, so you are free to change it. If you would rather we did it, we quote for that piece of work on its own. You never need a monthly plan to keep the site online or to get a change made.

If something goes wrong

We build carefully and we test on real devices, but no website is guaranteed to be free of faults or available without interruption. If something we built is broken, tell us and we will fix it.

We cannot promise a search ranking, a mention in an AI answer, a particular cost per click, or a number of enquiries. Nobody can, and we say so on the home page. Nothing we build is sold on that basis.

Except where the law does not allow it to be limited, our liability is limited to the amount you paid us for the work. We are not liable for lost profits or lost business.

Cancelling

You can walk away before you approve the design and you will owe us nothing. After approval, the amount quoted is due. If we cannot complete the work, we will tell you and you will not be charged for what was not delivered.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of India, and the courts ofIndia have jurisdiction over any dispute. If you are a consumer buying from outside India, this does not remove rights you have under the law of the country you live in.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The terms that apply to your project are the ones in force on the date of your quote.
