Wix is a good tool if you want to build a site yourself and keep paying for it. If you would rather have it built for you and stop paying every month, this is what changes.
The short version
Wix's Core plan is €25 billed as €300 a year, for as long as the site is live, and you do the building. We build the site for €640, once; hosting is free for a standard site and only your domain renews. Over five years that is about €1,500 against about €65 after our one payment.
The difference is not really the software. It is who does the work, and whether the bill ever stops.
What Wix costs, and for how long.
The Core plan - the cheapest one that includes bookings - is €25 billed as €300 a year. Wix sets its prices by country, and this is its US price converted, so check Wix's page for yours. Some apps cost extra on top. And the plan does not end: the site stays online only while you keep paying.

What you do yourself on Wix.
Wix gives you the tools. The site is still yours to make:
- Choosing a template and bending it to your business.
- Writing every page, and deciding what goes first.
- Taking and editing the photographs.
- The settings that decide whether Google understands the page - titles, descriptions, the details in code a search engine reads.
- Keeping it all current when your prices or hours change.
Some people enjoy that. Most owners of a café or a plumbing business would rather spend the evenings elsewhere.

Moving from Wix.
We rebuild the pages from your live site, so nothing has to be exported. Your web address comes with you: if you bought it through Wix, it can be moved out or pointed at the new site, and we handle that part. When the new site is live, we tell you exactly which subscriptions you can cancel.
When Wix is the better choice.
If you enjoy building and want to change the site every day yourself, a builder suits you. If you run a large online shop with hundreds of products, a platform built for selling will serve you better than a small custom site. And if you only need a page for a few months, a monthly plan you can cancel is the cheaper answer.
Questions about leaving Wix.
Can you move my Wix site?
We rebuild it rather than move it: the pages are recreated from your live site, designed for your business. Nothing has to be exported, and you keep your content.
Do I keep my domain?
Yes. A domain bought through Wix can be transferred out or pointed at the new site. We handle that step and tell you what, if anything, it costs.
What happens to my Wix plan?
Keep it until the new site is live, then cancel it. We tell you which subscriptions you no longer need.
Can I still edit the site myself?
The site is yours, so yes - or ask anyone to. If you would like us to make a change, we quote for that job on its own, and there is never a monthly plan.
